An old social issue

A stereotype of blacks
Racism is a very very old form of discrimination in the humankind almost as old as sexism (see my entry about sexism). Firstly, racism is a socially constructed prejudice, because people have made generalizations about minorities for a long time such as "blacks are delinquents", "Asian people are mafia", "Latin Americans are drug traffickers", etc. In addition, racism is a form of fear, fear of facing the "different", wich ultimately causes hatred (man naturally hates what he fears), and this can be explained by many historical facts such as Nazism, where Adolf transmitted his hatred with the masses to different groups what was racially motivated. Finally, in relation to the former, racism is already so common that stereotypes are already seen as normalized, this can even be seen on television and in the movies: black or asian is usually the first to die in horror movies, in the television series or the novels the brunette woman is automatically of low social class, or a servant (where the viewer gives a sense of inferiority, very basic), among other facts.
In conclusion, we can extract these thoughts of people through tolerance, thinking that we are all human beings, that we have differences and these have to be respected, to finally eradicate racism.

A very special being

Condesa killing a pillow
My little dog Condesa is the most beautiful creature on this planet. Firstly, she looks like a puppy even if she is twelve years old, Condesa acts like a puppy because she sleeps long hours, but when she wakes up she is hyperactive and when we take her out for a walk she runs, jumps and plays.

In addition, Condesa despite being small (she is the size of an adult cat) she does not fear anyone, like strangers, other dogs regardless of size or breed. I remember perfectly when one day on one of her walks a Rottweiler approached her and she acted aggressively against him, and the dog ran for his life. Finally, my little dog knows you feel, she always is with you, accompanies you, although she cannot answer, she always listens, for example she was with me all the time when I was sick for a week, two years ago. In conclusion all these things make Condesa a beautiful and special creature.

The Argentinian magic

Traveling to Bariloche
The best holidays I've ever had were when I visited Bariloche, Argentina. It was when I was 16 (in 2013). First, I consider Bariloche a magic place, or more than place, the experience of traveling there, because traveling to that place you can appreciate how long is Chile (from Santiago to Bariloche are about 15-20 hours of travel, it depends of the custom house and the traffic), even from the center to the south, you can see various southern towns until Temuco, its natural characteristics like volcanos, hills, mountains, forests (that looks like The Lord of the Rings, I love it).
The second great feature of Bariloche is its people, the vast majority are very friendly, warm and hospitable persons, habitants who receive you with open arms and caters very well both a restaurant and a bookshop for example.
Summit of Cerro Campanario
The third amazing feature of Bariloche is its landscapes and activities you can do there, totally outdoors, like sailing with paddle boats on rivers, climb famous hills of the area, whose view is beautiful because on top of the hills (specifically Cerro Campanario) you can see countless lakes both Chile and Argentina. And if you did not do outdoor activities (at night for example), you could see the village, its green areas, fairs, streets, shops, restaurants, etc. But the non-outdoor activity that I most remember it was when I danced Tango with a very sexy Argentinian woman.

These three reasons are truly amazing and make Bariloche a famous and magnificent place to visit,
100% recommended to have an unforgettable holiday.

An universal right

The educational system it´s a very serious topic, for my view, in worldwide. Because for the education people trumps ignorance, allows people to improve their quality of life, develop skills and abilities that each person has in various fields in which everyone can thrive, acquires knowledge and purpose is sustainability and development in countries for the future, and for this fact in particular; the education begins to be a universal right.

But… what happens when the educational system is not correct? Or going beyond, the current system
does not have as much potential beneficiaries? There begins the problem.

In my personal experience, I didn’t have a clear view point in this topic because I went in a private school
that was not cared about the national movement of students, very wrong in my opinion, then I had to
inform my own about the movements and strikes.

For example, Chile's current problems go through education. The education went from being a right to be a business (remember the Piñera's speech), because people who are better off can afford better education, leaving infringed many young people who don't have good economic situation. This situation brings massive demonstrations of disapproval of the educational system, where schools and other educational institutions protest demanding a free and quality education, forming a movement that is not new and that I totally agree. This problem makes me angry, because they change and change over time authorities, but the problem persists. What thing is in our reach? MANIFESTATION, press for the universal rights that the Chilean State MUST guarantee (endorsed by UNESCO) rights that should favor the human being and that, in the future, will benefit our children, who like us, they will have rights and obligations.
So mi view it's with the students on strike, we have to support them because we are them.

Sexism: Problem as old as humanity

The gender roles is a very very old topic around the world, almost since man inhabits the Earth. But since the beginning it began to arise the social convention of many roles for men and women, which generated an others conventions and sexism, discrimination, a chauvinistic men and, a long term, a feminists women, that despite the name, they are fighting for equality.
In Chile, like a many of countries, the sexism and the discrimination is a reality, exists the typical conventions like:
-          The women are the weaker sex.
-          The women are a housewife, nothing more.
-          Boys don´t cry.
-          Boys don’t cook
-          Both sexes are sex objects (which is linked with superficial).
-          Etc.
If you ask me, I admit that sometimes I have been a chauvinist because I, like many others, I was born
conditioned in this society, and the difference is that I decided to think about this. In the whole, I’m not
agree with the gender roles, in the end all of we are humans dude!
In this country exists the social condition for sexes, the people are conditioned by social conventions from very long time ago, the thing what catches my attention it is to see as normal that the women get less money than men for the same jobs, as I said before, we are humans!, it’s the same condition, all of we have hearts and minds, we fulfill the same work but the women get paid with less money, why? There are not many reasons that convinced me.
Finally, we have to fight for equality, for both genders, at the university and job, inherit that wisdom to our children, to make a more humanized world, where there is really equality.

My vacation

Hi friends again!

Today I will talk to you about my holidays :D, well, my vacation this summer started on January 11th because the University was on strike for two months in 2015 hehe.

Whatever, I made very interesting things in this vacation, like watching movies, walking and getting together with friends, going to the pool, etc. But the best thing in this holiday was the journey I made with my family to “Valle del Elqui”, “La Serena” and “Bahía Inglesa”.

In the “Valle del Elqui” we stayed in some cabins from “Cochiguaz” river, for one week. Then we went to “La Serena”, there we stayed in an apart-hotel for one night. For the next day we went to “Bahía Inglesa” for one week more, there we stayed in another apart-hotel.

I ate much good food! :D , like risotto, fried fish, seafood, soup, pizza, etc. And I drank fruit juice, soda and mineral water (no, I don’t drink alcohol). All these places, I saw it for first time (except “La Serena”). In "Valle del Elqui" I saw a lot of hills, roads, etc. but the most interesting thing on this place was the earth's energy and mystique to use this energy for yourself. The most interesting thing in "Bahia Inglesa" was the white sand and the beach, where I swam.

How little I met people from these places I managed to see who was very friendly, attentive and welcoming people.

If I have to describe my vacation in three adjectives, would be: relaxing, exciting and renovator.
